Catch up - EGAD!!!
Yeah...remember how I said I'm not dead? Yeah...
So, I've got a few things to post, because I've been working at my new site:
http://jbobsmoviereviews.com
Among which is a podcast I do with my brothers - Gamer Boys. Check it out, please? K Thx LOL
But, since people visit this site as well, I'll get better at putting content up here.
Here's the last few movie reviews I did:
Alice In Wonderland
Clash of the Titans
Sorry for the delays!

I'm Not DEAD!
Contrary to popular belief, I am not dead, nor am I finished doing reviews. Oh no, not by a longshot!
I've just been extremely unmotivated/busy for the past few months. I graduated from college back in April, and I was looking for a job all through the first week of May. Finally, I landed a job (it's all about who you know, right???), but have been getting used to it for the past few weeks.
Now that I've pretty much got it all figured out, I'll be trying to do at least a review a week.
Also, my brothers and I are going to start doing a podcast soon, so that was the extra kick in the butt I needed to get going again.
I'll be working to get a review done and posted by this Sunday. Hopefully, all goes according to plan.
Thanks for sticking with me, guys and gals!

Voting for Next Few Reviews!
Okay,
I've posted some voting widgets so you can decide which movies you'd like me to review next month. I did get the request to do more recent films from my site survey (yes, I do listen!), so all of the movies are very recent: 2008 - 2010.
Go & vote! ...and please tell your friends to vote, too!

Site Survey Added
Okay,
I'm looking for some feedback on how to improve my website and content. I got some advice, which basically said that asking too general of a question is a VERY bad idea, and typically warrants no response. So, I decided to narrow it down to five specific questions. Click the above link, in the tabbed navigation, and off you go!
Thanks for stopping by!

All American Towing...(Warning! Angry Rant Ahead!!!)
So,
I was watching a movie with some friends last night, and I went out to get my car...it wasn't there...I was mad...
Apparently someone in the complex had a very bad day, and decided to share in their ill will with me and one of the other friends I was with. So, livid as I was, I called up to find out the damage on getting my car removed from impound. $140 )#@$(*^@ dollars!!! ARE YOU #@$)% ME? Oh, and they aren't open on weekends, so the extra 40 dollars was for getting it out after hours. And, if I waited to get it out until Monday, it would have been $160, because of "Storage Fees..." @#$)(@$!!!
I slept the initial anger off, so I could at least converse with the people today, and I find out it's a little old couple that happens to own the business. Apparently that's supposed to curb your anger because it's absurd to be angry at old people...yeah...
I was fine, because I knew I didn't have a choice, up to that point, until I ran into another guy who had his car towed as well...FROM HIS OWN COMPLEX! He had asked the guy if he could park his spot, because he never parks there, and he had permission to do so. Later that night, about 2:00, they towed his car.
It got me even more infuriated when he mentioned that a semester or two ago, they used to charge $75 dollars...so they nearly doubled their price! That begs the question - why do you need to charge that much money? Answer? YOU @$#$&# don't! It seems the company feels that they are justified because they are virtually the only towing company in the town I live in, so they can charge whatever they want, and get away with it.
Now my rant is directed toward "Good Mormon" college students. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm LDS, but taking on a vindictive attitude, both on the part of the tenants, and the towing company, is just wrong. I wasn't impeding anyone where I parked, and there were several people parked where I was, and there was plenty of room to get in and out. The fact that someone was sitting at their window, waiting for someone to park there, just to get their jollies off of someone else's misery, is just pure D wrong. Then, charging an exorbitant amount of money to tow and release someone's car is equally as wrong. Whatever the reason, I just have one thing to say to both the person who had my car towed, and the "company' that did it - I hope you're happy with yourselves.
I better stop now, before I really get angry, and say something I regret.
Thanks for listening,
J-Bob

Fan-Fiction Spotlight - Letter from Silent Heaven
Hey all,
It's been a good while since I took while to read a good fan-fiction, and I seemed to have stumbled across another one lately. This one is called, "Letter from Silent Heaven."
This one is pretty engaging, and INCREDIBLY long! I've only gotten to the third chapter today, and I had to stop myself, because of other obligations I have today. It's like something I read in the Game Informer about Dead Space 2 (which I recently picked up - expect a blurb about that soon!), the reviewer had to keep convincing themselves they'd stop at the next check point, and then just one more, and just one more...you get the idea, right?
So - the fic. This one is told from the perspective of James from Silent Hill 2, the protagonist of the game. It put me off at first, due to length, but once I started reading, I began asking myself if I would have acted any different than him, put in the same situation he found himself in.
The prologue is original content, and all the internal dialogue is as well, which separates it from a regurgitated script from the game type of fan-fic. I assume the author was tired when he wrote some of the chapters, because there are a few grammatical errors, but the message is still conveyed clearly despite that fact.
If you don't know anything about the Silent Hill franchise, you should take a moment to check it out if you want a good psychological horror story driven game. For those that want a brief synopsis, here's the overall feel of the second game.
You are James, and you've been sinking slowly but surely into the depths of despair since your wife passed away due to an illness. One day, a letter shows up on your doorstep, from Mary. Logic tells you how impossible this is, but this glimmer of hope is a welcome sight, as compared to the absolute misery you've felt up to this point. You take it upon yourself to investigate the validity of this letter, by going to Silent Hill to look for her. However, the town has several nasty surprises waiting for you, and you must battle your way through them in order to ascertain the truth.
As I said earlier, the internal dialogue is really what drives this story forward, and will grab you by the throat, and demand that you keep reading, in order to understand James' motivation, as well as his methods and reasoning.
Here's a link to the main story:

The Pest
There is a fine line between comedy and mind-numbingly annoying. Fortunately this movie comes nowhere close to that line!
